ATHENS, First stop in Greece

ATHENS, First stop in Greece

In April of this year we took a 15 day trip to Greece!! It was such an incredible and inspiring trip!! Greece was so so beautiful and the locals were so kind and beautiful and down to earth. They really want to help you and are so friendly and were just as curious about us as we were about them!

Waking up in Athens on our first morning in our Air Bnb house.

The first thing we did in Athens was walk to the Acropolis of course! Which was luckily only a 15 ish min walk from our Air Bnb. The Acropolis was so stunning, now April is technically "off season" or about a month before tourist season really gets busy in Greece! It was a good thing I think for us because it was still really warm and sunny but the Acropolis wasnt too packed, there was a good amount of people but it wasnt crazy, and ive heard in tourist season its just insane!

You can see here theres quite a lot of people, but still we can move around, I imagine it in tourist season to be WAY more crowded.

The Oden of Herodes Atticus- This guy build this stadium in the memory of his wife, swoon!

After the Acropolis we wandered down the hill (stopping for a drink on the way), to the Plaka Market area, I read this is a must see and it didnt disappoint! I LOVED the Plaka area full of little streets and alley ways with people selling gifts and souveniers, and lots of little cafes and coffee shops like this with seats outside perfect for people watching and enjoying the gorgeous weather!

Got this hat for like 6 Euros in the Plaka Markets. I love all the beautiful buildings, doors, plants and flowers here.

There were 5 of us in our group and I think we all agreed this was one of our best meals in Greece, im sorry I dont remember the name if the place, but it was at the top of the "Plaka Steps" and we just ordered a bunch of things to share along with some delicious wine!

The exchange rate from USD to EURO was really good, almost equal so as you can see here things are pretty affordable, the average price for a glass of wine at restaurants was about 5 EURO/USD, instead of like 11-16 USD here in America. I love the Love - Free at the bottom of this cute sign!
